Choosing The Chains

This morning I again pulled the Devil. Last time I did I wrote about shame. This time I am switching decks and going into the shadow. I am invoking the "Addicted" oracle card. Why do we choose the chains again and again? Are we playing old scripts going back to childhood? Or, are we somebody we would rather not be? Is it in our power to change or accept? Perhaps we should read the serenity prayer again and again.
