Sunday, November 20, 2022: I pulled the Hierophant today. Perhaps my least favorite card. This card represents orthodoxy to me, classically it is the Pope. The clash between orthodoxy and reality is played out in all the fives: poverty, grief, deceit and chaos. The Hierophant brings shame and pain. This can be a powerful teacher though. There are things that we should be ashamed of. Knowing what those things really are — there’s the lesson.
